I definitely plan on making this EASY bacon cheeseburger casserole for our next potluck.
can you use fresh potatoes in place of frozen hashbrowns?
Hi Dawn,
Yes, you sure can use potatoes. I would cook longer to assure the potatoes are done or boil potatoes before putting in the slow cooker.
Is this for a large slow cooker, we are a small family, should I cut in half for the small cooker?
Yes, you can.
Sure, you can always cut any recipe in half or freeze the leftovers. We are a large family, so I always make in large amounts.
What do you recommend I do if I leave the house for work at 8 am? I do have a slow cooker with a timer. I can set it to start cooking at noon or so…is that too long to have the food just sit out at room temp? Thanks!
It should be fine as long as the lid is left on it.
What do you serve with it? Any side dish or rice?
I usually serve it with a green veggie or salad. HTH!
I fixed this and it was extremely runny.
Do you have to cook the hamburger before you put it in the crock pot? If not it doesn’t seem like it would get done in 4 hours. Thanks
I want to try this but i am worried about the milk splitting/curdling I havnt had much luck with dairy in the slow cooker thus far and most slow cooker recipes ask that the dairy be added in the last 15 -30 mins of cooking. do you add the milk at the beginning in this recipe? if so what kind of milk works without splitting/curdling?
