My husband came up with this wonderful, but tasty Ranch style beans recipe after volunteering at a 4H function. He knew he could come up with something better than pork and beans from a can like they served at this function. This got him thinking.
Of course, he had to add meat because he might die without it for one meal. You know how men are, don’t ya?
ranch style beans recipe
Ingredients
1 lb pinto beans, soaked overnight
1 Poblano pepper, diced
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 onion, coarsely diced
1 15 oz can of diced tomato
1 T cumin
1 t chili powder
4-5 c of beef broth
1 lb of ground beef, browned
4 slices of bacon, uncooked and chopped
Instructions
Add all ingredients to slow cooker and cook on high for 8 hours.
Easy peasy!
