Easy Caramel in the Slow Cooker!

I was astonished when I realized I could make this simple, divine caramel recipe in my slow cooker!

This has got to be one of my new favorite recipes to make in my slow cooker.  It’s so EASY and so, so good. If you are trying to watch your weight, stop reading now.

Please note, I make numerous cans of caramel at a time, however, this recipe is for (1) can.

Easy Caramel in the Slow Cooker!

Ingredients

(1) can sweetened condensed milk
water

Instructions

Be sure to remove your label from the can
Place parchement paper on bottom of slow cooker to avoid rusting
Place can or cans in slow cooker on it's side
Fill slow cooker with 4 inches of water
Cook on low for 8-10 hours
Turn off slow cooker and allow to cool for 1 hour
Chill caramel in unopened can until ready to serve

We have used this divine caramel dipped in apple slices, on waffles and pancakes, and on ice cream.

It’s wonderful!  Enjoy this sweet caramel.

    Once you make it and cool it, how long will it last (unopened)? And should you store it in the refrigerator? Thanks.

      Hi Kelly,

      We always eat it so fast, so we never stored it long. I do put in the refridgerator, but I don’t imagine you would have to.
