I usually prepare a green garden salad with the chicken and rice slow cooker meal. It’s truly one of the easiest meals we love in our home.
You can half the recipe if you have a smaller family. Also, you can use regular cooked rice and skip the water.

Of course you can, but make sure it’s cooked before you put it in the crock pot. I would say 2-3 c.
I make this all the time on stovetop. But I do it a bit differently. I put the rice in the bottom of chicken fryer type pan, then add the soup and milk (twice the amount of rice used) and then mix them together well. Then I set the pieces of chicken on top of the rice and liquid and cover with frozen broccoli. Next I bring it to boil, turn it down and cook for about 25 to 30 minutes with the lid on about med to low heat (so it doesn’t burn). It cooks the chicken and rice together and steams the broccoli since it’s above the liquid. Definitely a family favorite! Sometimes, instead of milk, I’ll use water and then add seasonings on the rice and chicken before adding the broccoli – seasonings used: garlic, onion and paprika… delicious!
i do not like cream of mushroom soup. can i use a different soup with this receipe? if so, what kind?
